AAMC is an ever-growing non-profit health care organization located in Annapolis, Maryland. The hospital uses current state-of-the-art electronic computer charting. The staff can access a patient's health record from almost anywhere in the facility. This system eases the diagnosis and treatment of all patients seen or admitted while retaining their privacy.
The electronic health record allowed me to look into a patients specific problems or issues, make a decision about diagnosis or treatment all within a short period of time. It also allowed for a near seamless continuum of care that supported great provider to patient rapport. |

"The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has the largest enterprise-wide health information system that includes an electronic medical record. A graphical user interface known as the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) allows health care providers to review and update a patient’s electronic medical record at any of the VA's over 1,000 healthcare facilities. CPRS includes the ability to place orders, including medications, special procedures, X-rays, patient care nursing orders, diets, and laboratory tests."
