| For my last internship experience, I had the chance to work at Manor Care Largo Long Term Care (LTC) facility. This was a great introduction into long term care. All of the staff was extremely professional and helpful when I had questions or resident related concerns arose. The overall workload and flow is all together different at a LTC facility. As a dietitian, it is very important to address your resident's medical issues as well as their quality of life. Interviewing residents to better understand their food preferences is an important aspect of caring for the residents. |

| While at Manor Care Largo, I was able to: |
- Learn about resident's needs
- Coordination of services between doctors, nurses and nutrition services
- Attend care plan meetings for selected residents
- Hone interviewing and interpersonal skills
- Learn about the overall dietitian's responsibilities
- Improve charting and note writing skills
