I had the opportunity while at IFIC to work on two major projects:

1. FDA/CDC Salmonella Conference Call
I was able to participate in a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conference call on January 21st 2009. During the call, Dr. Steven Sundolf FDA and Dr. Robert Tauxe CDC gave a brief overview of current situation and then answered questions from the media.

2. Melamine Food Safety Issue
The staff at IFIC had the chance to interview Dr. Julie Jones about the food safety issues surrounding a recent melamine contamination. I was able to play a part in the development of the interview and the corresponding transcription of the interview.
